Our Philosophy
We believe that teachers should nurture children’s development and spiritual growth by providing quality learning opportunities, and experiences through God’s word and Christian principles. We believe in John Dewey theories that children learn through hands-on experiences, real life situations, and working cooperatively with their peers and others. Teachers will assess each child’s strengths and needs to reach their language, cognitive, motor skills, emotional and social goals to help facilitate children to reach their highest potential. Curriculum is designed to teach children through developmentally appropriate practices. The children learn through a play based exploration process that encourages cognitive , problem solving, perceptual, literacy, content and process skills among many others. Children are encouraged to develop self-efficacy and pro-social skills as well as inspiring their creativity and using their imaginations. Through careful observations and assessments we will modified the environment and curriculum to meet each child’s need and encourage full participation engagement in activities to optimize their learning experiences. We believe in Maria Montessori’s theory, the environment is important in fostering children’s learning. The classrooms offer real materials that children have easy access to for them to create, learn, and explore with in a pleasing, harmonious environment design to foster and inspire children’s learning. We believe that our school is an important part of the community and every family is important to strengthen our school family and community. We believe that the parents are the children first teachers, parents should also be involved in the children’s school, through working together we will be able to help each child feel the classroom is part of their home and give them a sense of belonging. That is why we create an environment filled with love and understanding where children feel they belong, respected, and are proud of themselves and their family. We will use positive guidance techniques to encourage children growth and development by observation and assessing the child and making strategy plans to help each child achieve their goals and achieve success in the classroom. |
